An open mathematical research invitation

300 questions. Proofs welcome.

Can nonlinear waves confine themselves, form stable topological states, or select their own wavelength? The Reyes Problem Repository organizes 300 research candidates across 12 mathematical fields and invites independent proofs, counterexamples, literature corrections and formal verification.

300Individually identified research questions, GC01–GC300
12Subjects, with 25 questions per field
65Preserved formal mathematical questions
235Provisional scope-v1 benchmark dossiers
Read the scope before claiming a solution. This is a mathematical research agenda, not a list of 300 independently established novel open problems. The November 2 source snapshot records one partially resolved GC question and no fully accepted GC resolutions. Exact Lean theorems remain valuable even when their related broader GC question is not settled.

How to contribute

Three ways into the mathematics.

You do not need to accept Wave Confinement Theory to contribute. Questions are evaluated by mathematics, assumptions, and established literature.

01 / CHOOSE

Choose a GC question.

Browse by subject or search an identifier. Read the original formal statement, provisional scope dossier and individual research review. Identify what is already known.

Explore the 300-question index ↗
02 / TEST

Prove, refute or correct.

Freeze the equation, domain, function space, parameter ranges and quantifiers. Compare prior work, prove an exact assertion, construct a counterexample or expose a missing hypothesis.

Read research review dossiers ↗
03 / DOCUMENT

Submit a checkable result.

State the theorem and its exact scope. Include a conventional proof, Lean declaration or reproducible counterexample, cite closest literature, and explain what remains unresolved.

Research starting points

Questions worth opening.

Each card separates a prior exact result or formal starting point from the wider question that still needs investigation.

Complete mathematical question texts

300 questions. Twelve mathematical subjects.

Read the complete original question, its resolution standard and its detailed mathematical scope directly on this page. Each subject contains 25 full-width entries, with complete research reviews, model definitions, prior art and outstanding proof obligations available inline. The original 65 statements are reproduced without rewriting their quantifiers.

Standard of contribution

Make the result independently checkable.

The goal is not to collect unsupported claims. The goal is to make mathematical statements precise enough to prove, refute or situate in the literature.

Meaningful contributions include exact proofs, rigorous no-go results, parameter-specific classifications, Lean 4 formalizations, corrected hypotheses, prior-art identifications and counterexamples.

  • Specify the model, domain, function spaces, parameters and quantifiers.
  • Show the mathematical argument or actual checked source declaration.
  • Compare against the nearest existing theorem and identify what differs.
  • Record which part of the GC question is answered and what remains.
  • Include reproducibility evidence when claiming a formal or numerical verification.

A theorem establishing one sufficient mass range does not automatically settle all masses. A proof in Lean establishes the encoded mathematical statement, not the physical interpretation of its assumptions.

Choose a question. Move it forward.

A useful contribution can prove a result, disprove an assertion, identify an existing theorem or formulate a better problem. The mathematical value lies in the precision of the result.
